  • Hardwood & Engineered Hardwood

Hardwood flooring is made from solid wood of a single species while engineered is made from layers of plywood with a hardwood top veneer. Both options are great in their own ways. Engineered Hardwood typically comes prefinished and because of its plywood sub-structure it is more dimensionally stable at wider and longer plank sizes. A grander more modern look can be achieved with large format boards which is why they have become increasingly popular. Traditional hardwood comes in smaller width boards up to 4" and is usually finished on site.

The most common hardwood flooring materials are derived from deciduous trees, which are hardwoods, as opposed to softwoods like pine or spruce. Our expert team is dedicated to delivering top-notch craftsmanship, ensuring a seamless installation process that enhances the aesthetic appeal and functionality of your home or business.

Benefits of Using Hardwood Flooring:
  1. Timeless Elegance: Hardwood flooring exudes a timeless and classic aesthetic, adding sophistication to any space.
  2. Durability and Longevity: Hardwood is renowned for its durability, making it a long-lasting flooring option.
  3. Easy Maintenance: Hardwood floors are easy to clean and maintain. Regular sweeping and occasional polishing are usually sufficient to keep them looking pristine.
  4. Versatility in Design: Available in a wide range of species, colors, and finishes, hardwood offers unparalleled design versatility.

Finished on Site Flooring

Unfinished solid hardwood floors are crafted from solid wood planks that have been left untreated so you can add the lacquer, stain, or other coating that suits your design needs. These planks are milled from single pieces of timber, then planed and sanded to various sizes and finishes. Choose from a variety of different wood species. You’ll also find a variety of pine options. Despite being considered a softwood, pine is a popular and versatile choice for floor planks. Each wood species brings a different tone to your living space, but all offer a lasting, classic appeal.

The major advantage of laying an unfinished solid hardwood floor is the flexibility it offers in terms of design theme and overall aesthetic. Finish your floor however you like—stain it the color of your choice, or use a clear varnish or lacquer to let the natural beauty of the wood grain shine through.

Before choosing a wood species, you might want to consider the day-to-day wear that your flooring will encounter. Each wood species has a rating on the Janka scale, which indicates how hard it is.
